The next event! No.2

Multiverse of Madness is a one day 34 person event, held tomorrow (22nd of August) in Derby at Boards and Swords Hobbies. This is my first time at Boards and Swords and I’m excited to head over and play there! This time it will be just myself and one friend that are going, and I just thought I’d do a quick post with our rosters in.

So, after editing and uploading Dom’s feature articles, I’ve realised I really like the X-Men and Storms leadership. Cyclops, Storm and Beast are going to make up my new core, allowing me to use either Leadership just in case. I think there is a huge potential in Beast, despite what a lot of other people (Dom included) think. As a result I’ll be changing the site name to BeastProtocols and running the Uncanny X-Men from now on!

In all seriousness, even Mystique couldn’t keep that lie up. In case you hadn’t guessed it, I’ll be running Web Warriors, similar to what I took to Elysium a few weeks back –

Characters
Miles Morales, Ghost Spider, Venom, Daredevil, Scarlet Witch, Killmonger, Baron Zemo, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight and The Reality Stone.

Team Tactic cards
Medpack, Brace for Impact, All Webbed up!, Lethal protector, Climbing gear, The Whims of Chaos, Usurp the Throne and Execute.

Secure crisis cards
Daemons downtown! Has our comeuppance come due?
Mutant Madman turns city centre into amusement park
Portals overrun city with spider people

Extract crisis cards
Fear grips world as ‘Worthy’ terrorize citizens
Skrulls Infiltrate world Leadership
Struggle for the cube continues

So this is a mostly unchanged roster from what I ran at Elysium. The two changes here are that I’ve dropped Spider tracker for Execute and Spider infected for Skrulls. These are just a couple of small swaps, whether I actually end up using them tomorrow will be a different thing! Skrulls is great when you have a Reality Gem Bearer, as their odds of finding the Skrull agent are doubled. Because of the advance on Deaths Blow, the speed reduction on Corvus isn’t too bad. Execute means that if somebody does decide to try and chase down Corvus for the Skrull – They better kill him quick. Otherwise, he might just turn around and throw a Deaths Blow where the defender can’t roll dice – Provided Proxima is nearby to help.

My friend who is coming with me tomorrow is none other than Old Man Jenks. That probably doesn’t mean anything to you as a reader, but Old Man Jenks is a friend of mine who I’ve played different game systems with for years. He is still quite new to MCP though, but has quickly found his feet after splashing out at Board in Brum and buying almost every character pack in little over a month. Tomorrow he is going to be running Brotherhood/Criminal Syndicate

Characters
Magneto (L), Kingpin (L), Mystique (L), M.O.D.O.K, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Toad, Luke Cage, Carnage and Omega Red.

Team Tactic cards
Carnage rules, Doomed prophecy, Deception, Medpack, No more mutants, Asteroid M, Can I borrow that?, Difficult to please

Secure crisis cards
Infinity formula goes missing!
Terrigen clouds sweep over city
Portals overrun city with spider people

Extract crisis cards
Fear grips world as ‘Worthy’ terrorize citizens
Struggle for the cube continues
Mutant extremists target U.S senators!

I think Jenks’s roster is pretty solid, Brotherhood and Criminal Syndicate both being solid affiliations. Judging by his Tactics cards, I’d wager he is going to be running his Brotherhood though. It will be good to see Omega Red and Carnage on the table, and I’ll try to keep track of some of his games as well as my own and let you all know how he gets on. Who knows, I might be able to convince him to do a write up himself!

As always, please leave a thumbs up if you enjoyed reading, or a thumbs down if you didn’t! Please feel free to comment any thoughts you have and follow the blog if you want to see future posts!

If you’re looking to expand your roster or jump in to Marvel Crisis Protocol, Check out Board in Brums Marvel section here, for all the MCP goodness you need. Thanks for reading!
