The next event! No.5
If you’re looking to jump into Marvel Crisis Protocol, or just need to fill out your roster with some fresh recruits or supervillains, please check out our Sponsor Board in Brum!
Over the next couple of months, I’ve got a lot of events lined up. I think Elliot is going to be coming with me to almost all of them, so the Web Warriors and the Criminal Syndicate will be making appearances for the foreseeable! Like Ebony and Ivory, I’m hoping that both myself and Elliot will do well at these events, and we might even finally cross paths at one of them!
The events that we currently have lined up to attend are,
25th September – Cosmic Avenging, Boards and Swords one day singles
26th September – MCP Game day, Asgard games one day singles
3rd October – MCP Tournament, Elysium games one day singles
16th October – MCP @ Sanctuary, Sanctuary games one day singles
31st October – MCP Tournament, Element games one day singles
6th November – Illuminati Invitationals, Board in Brum one day singles
4th December – Avengers Assemble, Board in Brum one day team event
So as you can see that’s quite a lot of events. I’m sure there will be other events too that pop up that can fill in the gaps, but I’m aiming for one one day event a weekend. You might of noticed that one of the events is slightly different to the others – And that is the Avengers Assemble event at Board in Brum. This will be the first Team event I’ve ever gone to, for any game system, and I’ve got to admit I’m really looking forward to it! Myself and Elliot will be two of the three members of the team, and there are whispers of a certain Uncanny X-Men player joining us!
If you want to bring a team along yourself, you can find tickets here! There will only be limited spaces, and if you want more information about how it works then carry on scrolling!

How do team events work in Marvel?
So thanks to the guys over on Table Top Simulator, through the lockdown there have been a series of events and tournament seasons, meaning we’ve now got a really great and refined system for running Tournaments and Team events! The full details of how it all works can be found below in the rules pack, but the basic idea of it is – Three players all bring completely unique rosters to battle it out against another team. Using the pairing methods, the Team Captains will decide who plays who, and then whichever team has more wins in a round will win the round overall. Other than that, it’s just like your other Tournaments!

If you read the tournament pack – You’ll realise that no duplicates are allowed within a team. This is also known as Highlander, and it means if one player has Captain America in their roster, then neither of the other team members may include him in theirs. This also applies to Team Tactics cards, which adds an interesting layer on top of the Banned and Restricted list.
The Highlander system really works for Marvel Crisis Protocol, as it means the Heroes really do feel a lot more unique – As they should – And between each team you’ll have thirty different characters! Although I’m already pretty sure about what affiliations we will be taking on our team, I’m sure we will all be fighting over who gets to take Medpack and Brace for Impact!

Whilst we are on the topic of events, I’ve had a couple of people asking about what Elliot took in his roster to get his first 4-0. I thought I’d post his roster up here again if anyone is interested in taking a look! As far as I know El is pretty happy with his Roster at the minute, although he is known to make last minute changes! Either way, I’m sure he is gonna carry on doing well at future events!
Characters
Kingpin (L), Mysterio, Black Cat, Luke Cage, M.O.D.O.K, Enchantress, Toad, Black Widow, Amazing Spider Man and Taskmaster
Team Tactic cards
Medpack, Brace for Impact, All according to plan, Heroes for Hire, Advanced R&D, Climbing Gear, Bitter Rivals and Shadow Organisation
Secure crisis cards
Gamma Wave sweeps across Midwest – 15
Mayor Fisk vows to find Missing witnesses – 16
Terrigen clouds sweep over city – 20
Extract crisis cards
Mystic Wakandan Herb: Fact or Fiction – 15
Research Station Attacked – 16
Struggle for the Cube continues – 17
As I’ve said before, I already thought Ell’s roster was really strong, and going 4 – 0 over the weekend just proves exactly that. I think people have been sleeping on Criminal Syndicate for a while, but they’re definitely coming out of the wood work now, and after a couple more events I’m sure Elliot will have them down to a T!

Wow! Definitely lots of tourneys coming up, so best of luck with all of those. It’ll especially be interesting to see the teams in action – the extra rules and requirements seem like they’ll definitely impact team compositions in unexpected ways.
